The Roy "Sugloo" Ipana Arena is located in the Midnight Sun Complex. Opened in 1997, it features an NHL-size ice surface, a digital scoreboard and four change rooms with showers. With seating for 400 people plus an upper viewing area, a large concession and skate sharpening services, it is perfect for hosting tournaments and events.
The arena is home to Inuvik's minor hockey, speed skating club, Old timer hockey, Recreation Hockey and Can't Skate hockey. An arena scheduling meeting is held each September. Clubs interested in participating should contact the MSC at 867-777-8609 or email recreation@inuvik.ca.
In the spring the ice is removed, and the arena becomes a tradeshow, workshop and special event venue. Hosting conferences, the Great Northern Arts Festival, ball hockey tournaments and summer activities.
